A gorgeous Thanksgiving table centerpiece just makes your feast feel extra cozy and full of down-home goodness. The classic cornucopia is a beautiful display of the bounty of a fall harvest, but it’s time for the cornucopia to step aside! Whether you want to roll with classic themes or switch to something more modern, we’ve got the perfect Thanksgiving centerpiece ideas to elevate your Thanksgiving dinner.

1.Balloon Bouquet

Sometimes a large centerpiece can get in the way of your view of other guests at the table. It certainly can be awkward to have to lean around a table centerpiece just to make conversation with someone on the other side.

A low-profile Thanksgiving centerpiece is one idea, but how about a floating centerpiece? You can easily achieve this with a helium-filled Thanksgiving balloon bouquet. Various sizes of latex balloons in fall colors, combined with a Thanksgiving-themed mylar balloon, make a lovely centerpiece.

Custom-order Thanksgiving balloon decor with Ultimate Party and pick it up at our Hendersonville, TN party store.

2.Green Theme

Orange, red, yellow, and brown typically dominate classic Thanksgiving table centerpiece ideas. So, if you want to make your centerpiece pop and stand out, try rolling with a modern green theme.

We suggest taking a big wooden bowl and filling it with fall harvest items that are green like Granny Smith apples, acorn squash, artichokes, and green gourds. Break up the green a little with small white pumpkins and brown pine cones. Goldenrod is a bright yellow fall wildflower that pairs well with this centerpiece. If you can find some growing near you, add a few sprigs here and there.

3.Veggie Vases

Who needs glass and ceramic vases when you have pumpkins and squash! We love this organic idea for a Thanksgiving table centerpiece. Hollow out a pumpkin or butternut squash. Butternut squash is already shaped like a vase so it’s a great alternative to pumpkin!

To make it stand up with the bulbous part at the base, you may need to make a flat cut across the bottom. Fill your veggie vases with your favorite fall flowers.

4.Use Table Runners

In the art world, it’s well known that the eye will follow a line. You can use this design trick to bring your guests' attention straight to your Thanksgiving table centerpiece.

Thanksgiving table runners can come in plain options with a single fall color, use fancy gold thread to create accents, and feature designs with fall leaves, turkeys, cornucopias, and more. You cab create a cohesive table theme with matching Thanksgiving napkins.

5.Mini Sunflower Centerpieces

Sunflowers are such a beautiful fall flower and provide a wow factor all by themselves. Instead of ideas for large Thanksgiving centerpieces, why not spread out several small ones so guests at all ends of the table can have decor close by? Depending on the size of your sunflowers, use one to three in each vase. For your vase, we suggest using any small vintage cups you have on hand.

6.Budget Centerpiece

If you’re looking for something budget-friendly that you can reuse year after year, then consider going with fake fall foliage and plastic gourds. These are classic Thanksgiving decorations that people have come to expect in the fall season. Add your own touch by using a Thanksgiving platter, rustic basket, or a circular slice of wood with the bark still attached to arrange your Thanksgiving centerpiece ideas.

7.Edible Cornucopia

Ok, so we’re going back on what we said about the classic cornucopia and adding a delicious twist! Use tinfoil to create a cornucopia shape, then cover it in some refrigerated bread or crescent roll dough. Brush on an egg wash to keep it shiny and bake it for an edible and tasty cornucopia.

Fill your finished cornucopia with fruit, veggies, meats, and cheeses that your guests can snack on while they wait for the main feast. Add your favorite dip and tell guests they can rip into your cornucopia!

8.Use Fruit

Many Thanksgiving centerpiece ideas feature fall harvest veggies like pumpkins, gourds, and squash, but why not switch it up with fall harvest fruits? Apples and pears are fall fruits that make a lovely and rustic centerpiece.

Fill a fancy bowl with either apples or pears and place sprigs of greenery in the cracks. You can use any greenery, but we especially love the smell and look of rosemary sprigs paired with fruit.
